A Steinway grand piano, a microphone, two outstanding musicians – and unplugged versions of favorite songs from three musical worlds. That’s all it takes to blend jazz, soul, and pop into an evening of timeless music. From Duke Ellington and Burt Bacharach to Marvin Gaye and Feist, familiar songs are reinterpreted in a stripped-down, intimate way.
After many concerts with their own touring bands, Jennifer Kothe and Simon Anke are especially looking forward to closing the year with a heartfelt duo performance.
For Jennifer Kothe, the voice is much more than just an instrument – even though she’s trained to use it with ease, thanks to her vocal studies at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. A voice can bring back memories, spark the imagination, and express emotion. It’s always changing, always revealing new sides – and new ways to tell a story and touch a heart through song.
Simon Anke, a versatile pianist and arranger, has worked with artists like Jocelyn B. Smith, Keimzeit, and The Voice of Germany. He also writes and produces music for his own projects, including LÜX and Björn Bergmann. As a musician, he creates space for emotion and sound – and brings stories to life through the piano.
