Xmas Cards from Brazil - Piano meets Percussion

Percussionist Amoy Ribas and pianist Johannes von Ballestrem present a program inspired by the Christmas traditions of northeastern Brazil. Drawing on the music of Pastoril and Lapinha—festive performances that combine music, dance, and storytelling—they reinterpret traditional melodies and blend them with their own musical backgrounds, from Forró and Samba to jazz and improvisation.
