This concert features a vibrant mix of funk, blues, and bossa nova classics from legendary artists like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Antonio Carlos Jobim, The Beatles, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, and more — plus a few original tunes by Marque Lowenthal.
A pianist and composer active in the Berlin jazz scene, Lowenthal is known for his versatile style, blending jazz, funk, and Brazilian rhythms. From Chuck Berry to James Brown, from Jimi Hendrix to the Stones, the music of this era continues to inspire him.
