Celebrating Bobby Timmons

Matti Klein has been making a name for himself internationally for years as a groove master and vintage keyboard enthusiast. Once a founding member of the jazz funk band Mo' Blow, since 2013 artistic director and keyboardist for Brazilian superstar Ed Motta, he now tours primarily with his acclaimed Matti Klein Soul Trio and as a featured guest for various jazz and pop acts. 

The Matti Klein Acoustic Trio dedicates this special evening to the repertoire of a legendary pianist of the soul jazz era: Bobby Timmons. Celebrated for timeless compositions such as Moanin', Dat Dere and This Here, Timmons combined irresistible gospel-infused grooves with lyrical sophistication, shaping the sound of modern jazz for generations. Rooted in the spirit of hard bop while embracing the freedom of the moment, tonight's music unfolds with spontaneity and deep respect for the original material.
