Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their first album - Future Jazz, Indie Soul
After more than a year’s break, Micatone returns to the stage with a series of concerts celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album “Nine Songs”.
Micatone started at the turn of the millennium as one of the early groups combining a live band with electronic breakbeats and club sounds. In conjunction with the voice of Lisa Bassenge the exceptional mixture of pop, jazz and electronics led to a number of record releases on Jazzanova´s label Sonarkollektiv. Among the fans and supporters of the band were people like French House DJ Bob Sinclar or BBC radio presenter Gilles Peterson. Featured artists on Micatone tracks include Stuart Staples of the Tindersticks, Seeed´s Demba “Ear” Nabé, jazz musicians like David Friedman or Gerard Presencer and on the last two releases Jazzanova´s producer Stefan Leisering.
The concert at the Orania will be an exuberant, danceable journey through Micatone’s multifaceted discography.
