The Gershwin Songbook from Tin Pan Alley to Hollywood
George Gershwin was one of the most wonderful melody inventors of the 20th century, and the history of American popular song would have been very different and much poorer without his lasting contribution.
In his homage to the tragically young deceased, the nationally and internationally renowned jazz pianist and professor of jazz piano at the Jazz Institute Berlin, Wolfgang Köhler, dedicates a hand-picked selection of well-known and lesser-known pieces from George Gershwin's rich oeuvre, balancing recognition with rediscovery.
